vinSUITE, a leader in direct-to-consumer wine business software, is excited to announce that Jeffrey Payne, the company’s Director of Engineering, has been invited to present at the at the upcoming 34th Annual Pacific Northwest Software Quality Conference on October 17 in Portland, Oregon. Jeff oversees development of vinSUITE and Thr!ve, the restaurant software developed by vinSUITE’s parent company, Granbury Solutions.

Jeff will be presenting his work “Automating Restaurant Point-of-Sale Testing with Selenium WebDriver: A Case Study“ at the upcoming 34th Annual Pacific Northwest Software Quality Conference on October 17 in Portland, Oregon. Busy restaurants, as Granbury knows, are one of the most hostile computing environments and yet the quality and reliability requirements for restaurant point-of-sale systems are incredibly high. If the point-of-sale system stops working, the entire restaurant grinds to a halt.

This presentation will show how Granbury built an automated continuous integration test infrastructure for its in-store and online ordering systems based on Selenium WebDriver. Jeff will also discuss the institutional barriers to test automation and how to confront them by demonstrating how a comprehensive test automation suite can be a major competitive advantage and an asset almost as valuable as the products it supports.

“Jeff’s commitment to quality engineering practices has made an incredibly positive impact on our engineering team,” said Tom Bronson, President and CEO of Granbury. “We are proud of how his direction and leadership have contributed to making our products reliable foundations of our clients’ technology strategy.”

Jeff joined Granbury Solutions in 2015 as Engineering Manager for the Food Service division.  He was recently promoted to Director of Engineering, a position which gives him a leadership role in developing vinSUITE as well.
